Hi all!! Events by MOJA is in the midst of planning our first Fashion Show Event for a clothing line called J. Christ. The designer is a friend of mine and the concept is for the stylish Christian who wants to wear the name of Jesus Christ. The show is on Sunday August 15th at 6pm @ 434 Dewitt Avenue in Brooklyn, NY. The clothing line is great and the show is jam packed with Christian artists!
We sat down with D. Charles to ask him a few questions...listen in:
D.Charles,
What was your inspiration behind the JCHRIST clothing line?
J. Christ was inspired by one of my shopping adventures. I was looking for a nice stylish shirt and every shirt that caught my eye as fashionable and buyable seem to have a skull hidden within the designs. I refuse to wear a symbol of death on my body but realized that meant I couldn't purchase a lot of the nice clothes that were in the stores. I thought to myself that it would be cool to have style and positive powerful symbols and imagery. One year later, my dream was realized with the most powerful symbol imaginable. His name.

Who wears JCHRIST?
J. Christ is worn by everyone! There are probably just as much non-christians wearing it as christians. This is telling of the fact that there is a desire for an image of hope. People of all walks of life and backgrounds seem to agree that Jesus embodies hope. His name carries a heroic quality just like Che Guevarra's face, or Barack Obama symbol or MLK's silhouette. My students love it, atheists respect it, muslims applaud it and positive people wear it.
Where do you see JCHRIST in the future?
I see J. Christ as an international phenomenon. I am collecting pictures for what I call the "J. Christ Nation". I want to capture images of people separated by distance but united under one name.
What is to be expected at the JCHRIST Fashion Launch on August 15th?
Well, I can't give too many details BUT.... It's going to be LIVE!!! You can expect diversity, laughter, music and surprises. You gotta come to find out!!!
How do you like working with Events by MOJA LLC?
Events by MOJA is seriously a God-send. I will not do another major program without at LEAST a consultation from MOJA. The entire Events by MOJA Team works tirelessly to make my vision come to life. Its happening right before my eyes and I could not do it without them.
